Before our film frenzy let's chow down on some top quality fashion yes? Line our stomachs. Here goes. 'A Dream of a Dress' by photographer favourite Paolo Roversi for Vogue Italia. The editorial used a range of young models (Imogen Morris Clarke, Ymre Stiekema, Darya Kurovska, Heidi Mount, Rose Corde,Viktoriya Sasonkina, Jourdan Dunn, Toni Garrn, Sigrid Agren, Anna de Rijk and Nimue Smit) and was a huge jump from the colourful modern bag lady shoot he did for POP with Jessica Stam & Lily Cole. Still love it though. It's always good to see the season's Haute Couture in action. Mhmm that last ones knocks me out in so many ways. I think it's the Givenchy diamante face mask on Jourdan Dunn and the Grace Jones's hair Rose Corde is rocking with the exaggerated shoulders. YUM. This next shot is from a recent Karl Lagerfeld shoot for Vogue Germany. I just think it's stunning. Moving swiftly on to the topic of film friday this week: AMERICAN BEAUTY.
It's one of those films that exposes the true art in film making that is usually suffocated by over acting or stupid Hollywood explosions. The plot itself is complex while the huge cast of amazing actors keep the characters relatable. I love it from the beginning to the end and back again. And we'll not talk about the brilliant soundtrack or we'll be here all day. With those beauties settling down in your mind's eyes, go and watch the film if you haven't already! Im doing you a service. It's heart achingly sublime.
My name is Jasmin but I've always liked boys with girls' names and names that end in -ie.
I'm an insomniac. I like to stay up late to watch the sky change from blue to black to beige and blue again. I'm a critically indecisive realist whose in love with the little things. I enjoy writing lists and schedules but never stick to them. I want to learn to do a million things like speak Swedish, play guitar, skateboard, hula hoop and play poker. My mind is always turning over a million things but I am a simple girl and I never ask for much. I'm a typical nerd and I'm excited by fashion, photography, books, ideas and theories.
I could pour through books and magazines until my eyes dribbled down my face in a torrent of glitter and sequins. It's true.
I like to paint what I write, write what I think and photograph what I see.
