I Love You Too-Strangers In The Dark

So let us all come away with me into a magical place between space and time, in the middle of the sea and the moon and play hide and seek in a world where it is still Monday.

Music Monday timeee.
1. Cry Me A River- Michael Buble Cover

Now I'm not a fan of X-Factor in general or his kind of music but Buble's voice just gets me everytime and this cover is utter genius. I love the Bond like dangerous undertones-how unforgiving and malevolent it all sounds-like every chord is a slap in the face and a kiss on the cheek. Oh Buble. I even love to say your name.

2.Girl In A Coma- Their Cell

Is there anything better than an old love rediscovered with songs? You hear those introductory notes and you remembed just how it felt to hum this tune incessantly before, muttering word for word or just the ones your remembered.'So I'm saving all my secrets for a deaf man | Blabber on I blabber on | Stare empty at a wall | And make it try to sing along'

3.I Wish You Love- Rachel Yamagata

Now I'm not new to Rachel's beautiful voice but I am new to this song. I have a playlist on my itunes just for songs that contain piano. I am a sucker for piano- happy Gogol Bordello style or melancholy or dreamy playing you up to that second star on the right piano. I've pretty much been replaying this song for the last 3 hours. Today is my 20th birthday. This strikes me as the type of song you sing to a child- a little wishful lullaby.

4. Boston- Augustana

Now I have no idea who Augustana is-this wonderful man with bed hair and a tattooed ring of words around his fingers playing on a piano and singing with his little boy voice...but I think that I could grow to love everything about him. Not like I do Conor Oberst but pretty close. I dreamt about Conor last night. He was playing a concert and I didn't want to sit close to him because I was afraid that I might cry if he looked at me.

5.Three Bay Cliffs- Luminous Frenzy

I played this video on my tv yesterday while exploring the new realease list and I just really really liked it. It's creepy and it's sad and it reminds me the virgin suicides and zombie films and detective mysteries and Sweeney Todd making his death trap chair all at once. This is good in my books- a definite download. It sounds like it needs to be in a film.

Snapshot of a Ghost

My name is Jasmin but I've always liked boys with girls' names and names that end in -ie.
I'm an insomniac. I like to stay up late to watch the sky change from blue to black to beige and blue again. I'm a critically indecisive realist whose in love with the little things. I enjoy writing lists and schedules but never stick to them. I want to learn to do a million things like speak Swedish, play guitar, skateboard, hula hoop and play poker. My mind is always turning over a million things but I am a simple girl and I never ask for much. I'm a typical nerd and I'm excited by fashion, photography, books, ideas and theories. I could pour through books and magazines until my eyes dribbled down my face in a torrent of glitter and sequins. It's true. I like to paint what I write, write what I think and photograph what I see.
