Film Friday

So it's not quite Friday...but I wanted to do a film post right now. Enjoy! What are you looking forward to watching?

1. Get Him To The Greek

Russel Brand & Jonah Hill produced by Judd Apatow of Knocked Up, Superbad & Pineapple Express fame. Comedy is second nature to the guy & so is being a sex fuelled temple of ridiculous to brand. Easy success I should think.

2. The Exploding Girl

I'm always a fan of beautiful character studies shot in an honest, realistic way. This strikes me as a watch but not a must watch. It doesn't look like a life-changer.

3.Afterschool

I always prefer creepy highschool dramas and this one looks fantastically creepy & sinister.

4.Nightmare on Elm Street

I am a lover of the horror genre and despite the fact Michael Bay is producing this I still want to see it. Some of the shots look beautiful (like the snowy bedroom)-it reminds me a lot of the photogrpaphs of Diane Arbus and it looks pretty true to the series & the character of Freddie. Jackie Earle Haley who plays him is a little typecast in misunderstood evil roles but he does them well-see him in Little Children, Watchmen & Shutter Island.

5.Cyrus

For a tiny moment I thought this was a bio of the horrid Cyrus family *phew* We can all breathe a sigh of relief because it's actually a super sweet, "brutally honest" portrayal of the modern family in LA. That does sound like it should be about the Cyrus family actually. God, imagine that movie? It'd be weird right? *shudders*

Brand's film acting method is genius.
"I play characters like myself, basically. I see a script that says "a man with short hair" and think, "Nah, I don't think I'd like to be him"" XD
And Nightmare On Elm Street will suck the big one. I can almost guarantee it.

I'm an insomniac. I like to stay up late to watch the sky change from blue to black to beige and blue again. I'm a critically indecisive realist whose in love with the little things. I like to paint what I write, write what I think and photograph what I see.
